Remarks: ID BY SMITHSONIAN, FAA 2470. PHOTOS. BIRD FLEW INTO THE LEFT TIP TANK AND BIRD PARTS STRUCK THE LEFT WING AND BOOT AND FUEL TANK VENT. THERE WAS DAMAGE. DURING APPROACH I CHECKED FOR AIRBORNE HAZARDS ON EITHER SIDE. AS I WAS TURNING MY EYES BACK TO RWY 04, I FELT AN IMPACT AND THE A/C SHOOK. I CHECKED LANDING GEAR INDICATORS TO CONFIRM THEY WER ALL GREEN. I LOOKED DOWN THERT WING AND THAT WAS OK. THEN I LOOKED DOWN THE LEFT WING AND SAW DMG TO THE LEFT TIP TANKE AND BIRD PARTS IN A HOLE THAT PENETRATED THE LEFT TIP TANK. I GENTLY CONFIRMED THE AILERONS, ELEVATOR AND RUDDER WERE WORKING AND LANDED. I NOTIFIED THE KANSAS CITY CENTER CONTROLLER AND PARKED AT MY HANGAR. I RETURNED ABOUT 45 MINUTES LATER TO COLLECT BIRD PARTS AND TAKE PICTURES. MY WIFE WHO IS A PILOT AND WAS CO/PILOT DID NOT SEE THE BIRD PRIOR TO IMPACT. IT MAY HAVE BEEN AN A POWER POLE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE RWY.
