Clos Du Val Winery

The Clos Du Val Winery is located at 5330 Silverado Trail, Napa, CA. Sixty miles north of San Francisco; this winery was founded by two men who wanted to produce a Bordeaux style wine. The Stag's Leap District of Napa Valley met all requirements and in 1972, they established Clos Du Val.

The tasting room is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for a nominal fee; the tasting fee is refunded with the purchase of any wine. Groups of eight or more require a reservation. Tours of the Clos Du Val vineyard are also open to the public upon request. During the tour, guests learn about different trellising techniques, sustainable farming and how to identify Merlot grapes.

The Clos Du Val property features gardens and its Olive Grove, which has several tables for picnicking. The tables are limited so reservations are recommended on weekends and for large groups. Their pétanque courts, a French version of bocce ball, are available for guests to try while enjoying the vineyard's atmosphere.

Clos Du Val also hosts an annual Grape Stomp and Harvest Cookout. This day-long event includes competitions such as grape-picking and grape-stomping as well as breakfast and a cookout to end the festivities.
