Cypress Lawn Memorial Park

Cypress Lawn Memorial Park is located on 1370 El Camino Real in Colma, California. The cemetery was established in 1892. A group of men felt a cemetery was needed to lay people to rest with respect and dignity, thus Hamden Noble and others created the area for Cypress Lawn Memorial Park. They planted a number of trees with lakes and ponds nearby offering a garden like environment. Monuments, statuaries, and other sculptures can be found at the memorial park.

Some of the architecture and sculptures are dated to the 20th century. Stained glass work was done by Louis Comfort Tiffany, which adorns the chapels and mausoleums. The cemetery is an important feature of Colma, California as it moves into another hundred years of being. Those in the San Francisco Bay area use the cemetery, as well as those in Colma. There is a funeral home near the main office on El Camino Real. They offer cremation facilities. They have a flower shop and many service options for those who may require it. Otherwise visitors can enjoy a walk around some of the more notable graves. Much of the architecture is quite beautiful for those who enjoy touring cemeteries.
