Frick Collection


Located adjacent to Central Park on East 70th Street, the Frick Collection consists of a selection of art and a reference library in the historic former home of Henry Clay Frick.

The Frick Collection includes some of the most well-known paintings and other art by famous European artists. In addition, the museum contains one of the best collections of small bronzes in the world. Visitors can also view the collection of Oriental rugs, French furniture and porcelains from the 18th century, and Limoges enamels.

The museum's doors open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. The library is open to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. First-time researchers must bring valid identification and arrive well before the library closes.

The Frick Collection is just 15 minutes west of LaGuardia International Airport. It is also within walking distance of the Empire State Building, New York Skyride, and Grand Central Station. Other nearby tourist sites include MoMA, Carnegie Hall, Ground Zero, Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park, Times Square, the Theater District, Whitney Museum of American Art, Central Park Zoo, and Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Patrick's Cathedral, to name a few.
