Garment District

Garment District spans 100 blocks in downtown Los Angeles with lots of parking spaces available. This district is open from 10am to 5pm Monday through Sunday although some shops do not open on Sundays. The general boundaries are from 7th Street to the north, Santa Monica 10-Freeway to the south, Spring and Main Streets to the west and San Pedro Street to the east.

Here visitors will find a wide range of stores selling clothing and accessories for the whole family as well as textiles, flowers and much more besides. There are over 1,000 stores here selling items to the public at wholesale prices with many independent retailers stocking their own range of goods as well as some branded names. In fact 80 percent of the district is comprised of wholesale business with buyers, retailers, wholesalers and designers all gathering here.

One of the most popular shopping areas in the district is Santee Alley as there is a festival-like atmosphere there. Shoppers will get some bargains with a large range of clothing, toys, perfumes and gift items amongst other things at Santee Alley's 150 or so stores. The flower market here is the largest of its kind in the United States and has a large choice of cut flowers, potted plants and dried flowers.
