Hollywood Entertainment Museum

This museum celebrating the history of Hollywood and film was founded in 1996. In 2006, it moved from its original location on Hollywood Boulevard and decided to focus primarily on its entertainment themed high school and after-school programs. The Education Center for the Entertainment Arts targets at-risk youth who will benefit from the mix of education, community involvement, and culture of a theatre and entertainment program. Because media and entertainment play such a crucial role in the lives of kids and teens, the museum believes they can use these tools to reach out to kids who are in need of extra attention and support and who are in the juvenile justice system and on probation. The goal of the program is to help kids transition from the life choices they have made to a successful post secondary education and eventually, employment. Participants in the program have achieved higher graduation rates from high school, higher rates of employment, and fewer future offenses that put them back into the system. The Entertainment-On-The-Go program brings arts and entertainment into the schools for presentations and assemblies. The Project P.S.A. is an elementary school program that offers younger kids a look into what it might be like to work in the entertainment industry. Reel Hollywood are enrichment courses that allow youth to further explore their options in the entertainment industry.
