Laguna Art Museum

Located along Pacific Coast Highway and just off the Laguna Beach, Laguna Art Museum features historic as well as contemporary California art.

The Laguna Art Museum has occupied its location since 1929 when the Laguna Beach Art Association, comprised of a group of local artists, opened its first gallery with a collection of the best regional works. After philanthropic gifts and fundraising, the gallery expanded in 1951. By the 1970's the gallery had attained museum status, and in the 1980's the museum expanded to its current size. In 1986, the museum officially became the Laguna Art Museum.

The collection housed in the museum today includes American artwork, specifically focused on California artwork, from the late 1800's to present. The museum opens seven days a week at 11:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m. Laguna Art Museum charges admission and offers audio, guided, and group tours. In addition, the facility is available to rent for weddings, parties, and other events along with catering and planning services.

Visitors can get to Laguna Art Museum by driving one hour south along the Pacific coast from Los Angeles International Airport. The art museum resides in the midst of plentiful attractions, including numerous parks, shopping centers, beaches, museums, as well as dining and lodging.
