Preservation Park


Preservation Park in Oakland occupies two blocks worth of space and offers a unique wedding, garden and meeting destination for people in the area. The area is Victorian in style and many of the historic homes in the area have been renovated into event space and meeting facilities. Throughout the park area are benches, wrought iron fences, a Parisian fountain and old-fashioned street lamps. The community began in the late 19th century and was an upscale neighborhood inhabited by Oakland's most prominent residents. By the latter part of the 20th century, he homes had been subdivided and many were crumbling. The City of Oakland create partnerships with the intention of moving many of the historic buildings. The park underwent renovations and today many of the original buildings have been restored to their original condition. The outdoor areas are maintained and there are lush gardens and scenic pathways throughout the area. Located in the space is more than 55,000 square feet of space for rent, 47,000 square feet of space for offices and nearly 1,000 square feet of space for retail. Events that have been hosted in the facilities include luncheons, trade shows, weddings, award dinners and a World Figure Skating reception.
