Red Pass

Titus Canyon is one of the more popular destinations in Death Valley National Park, California for those who enjoy off road treks. Anyone who goes along the roadway systems to Titus Canyon will have to pass through Red Pass. Red Pass was given its name for the reddish hue of the rocks found in the pass. It is known more for the views from the top of the pass than its actual color.

Since it is also a gateway to more places in Death Valley National Park it is worth seeing and driving along. Like most of the roadways in the park this one is dirt. It requires high clearance vehicles such as Jeeps, SUVs, or even ATVs in order to get through Red Pass and on to destinations like Titus Canyon.

Visitors who take Red Pass will go by the Furnace Creek Visitor Center. It is a good place to stop and gain a map for those who do not have one. It will be possible to go through Titus Canyon on a 3 hour adventure. The road through Red Pass is one way allowing visitors to see Leadfield Ghost Town and Grapevine Mountains from various perspectives.
