Rutherford Hill Winery

Rutherford Hill Winery is located off the Silverado Trail just north of Highway 128 in Rutherford, Napa Valley, California and is approximately one and a half hours from San Francisco International Airport. The winery is open to visitors from 10am to 5pm daily except Easter Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Featured wines produced here include Merlot, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, but there are also limited release wines made here that can be tried at the tasting room.

Wine tasting takes place during regular opening hours, when visitors can also purchase current releases, older vintages and large format bottles as well as other gift items. There are tours offered here too running three times a day at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30 pm. Tours generally last about 45 minutes and include a walk through the wine-aging caves and a special tasting in the cellar.

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful grounds by taking a picnic lunch with tables provided on a first come first served basis. The caves are available for private lunches and dinners, which can be added on to the end of a tour and tasting session. An opportunity to blend a wine to take home is offered here too, with an expert on hand to educate visitors on the process.
