Telephone Pioneers Communications Museum


The United States has over 15,400 museums. Included in that list is the Telephone Pioneer Communications Museum of San Francisco. It is located at 1515 19th Avenue, San Francisco, California. Telephones have become an important part of everyday life, so much so that we have cellular phones because of the early telephone pioneers and communications experts.

At the telephone museum in San Francisco visitors can learn how the invention of the telephone was started. They can also learn about other methods of early communication used by pioneers. The museum is by no means large, but it does offer an intimate look at a variety of early inventors, inventions, and how the early communications era has spread into the wireless/ cellular phone era we have today.

Among the displays are several older telephones. Some are broken apart to show the inner workings, while others are in mint conditions to display the different types of phones from past to present. Images, photos, stories, books, archives, and more can be found at the museum. Museum hours vary based on the season. It is best to call before trying to enter the museum to find out current hours and pricing.
