Theatre 29


The Theatre 29 is a community theatre bringing performances to the people of Twentynine Palms. The theatre is a non-profit organization that began in 2000. Their mission is to "To bring quality, family-oriented theater to Twentynine Palms while offering opportunities for our children and citizens to experience the live arts." Past shows at the theatre have included Clue the Musical, Cheaper by the Dozen, Gone with the Breeze, the Odd Couple, Guys and Dolls, Oliver, Jesus Christ Superstar, the Crucible, the Best Christmas Pageant Ever, I Love You Your Perfect Now Change, High School Musical, A Bad Year for Tomatoes, Little Shop of Horrors and the Glass Menagerie. Performances range from the classic hits of Broadway to lesser-known shows that give young playwrights a chance to showcase their talent. The theatre holds auditions for the shows and the public is invited to try out for parts in upcoming performances. There is also advertising space for sale in the playbills, which offers area businesses a chance to be recognized and share information about their companies with theatre goers. The theatre works in conjunction with other area cultural establishments including the Hi-Desert Cultural Center, the Palm Canyon Theatre, College of the Desert Performing Arts, the Temecula Valley Players and the Cabaret Theatre West.
