Located in Henrico County's northern corner near the intersection of Interstate 295 on Route 1 Virginia Center Commons which opened during 1991 is the third newest mall in the area. The mall even has a Ticketmaster office that sells tickets to various events in the area.

The Virginia Center Commons serves the Ashland, Merchanicsville and North Richmond areas. The facility took business away from three other malls in the area when it opened.
