We currently drive a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. It has been an exceptional vehicle for us (purchased in 2011, 270K miles soon), but we know it is pushing the upper limits of its lifespan and are beginning to research our next vehicle.

We're thinking about downgrading a tier to a several years old compact SUV, so we've been exploring the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, and Honda CR-V. I've driven a RAV4 and am not a fan.

Could experienced owners and knowledgeable pundits weigh in with your feedback on these models? Thanks!

Finding a several yr old, low mileage, Compact SUV, that will deliver to 200k+ will be the challenge.

I would stick to one without a CVT.

Hyundai and Kia are usually dependable to 150-200k, but certainly depends their use and care (and climate region). Don't expect a repeat to 300k.

I have two friends that have been very happy with their CRVs. One is now at just over 200,000 miles. There are another two that love their Mazda CZ-5s. I must say that CX-5 in their red color is beautiful in the sun.
