Forest Hill Park looks like a beautiful park, but it appears to border the allegedly unsafe neighborhood of East Cleveland on one side. Is this park generally safe to hike in during the day? Have there been any problems in or around this park?

You should be fine during the day. The part of the park that's in East Cleveland is in the nicer part of EC.

I spent a lot of time at Forest Hills as a kid. Used to run through there a lot too. I wouldn't worry about anything!

I played softball at Forest Hills park for about 5 years (2005 to 2010) and I would rate it as safe to very safe. It is common to see Cleveland Heights police cruisers near the softball fields and driving on the hiking trails. During the summer months the park is fairly busy with pee wee football practices, softball games, and local area baseball games.

My only advice would be to travel the hiking/biking paths during the day because i don't believe these are lit during the evenings.

I'd be careful if you are not from Cleveland and unfamiliar with the park. It does look nice but yes it is in an unsafe area. I used to go there as a kid too but as an adult and with the change in times it's not worth taking the chance.

Disregard this.

Agree. It is mostly in Cleveland Heights and they take good care of it. I don't ever remember hearing about any incidents in that park.

It makes you wonder if some people actually avoid Central Park because it borders Harlem and Washington Heights.

What 'change in times'? You mean change in people's behavior! There is no such thing as the change in times.. stop tolerating bad behavior.
