Another thread made me think about the Kiddles that I loved when I was a kid (and kinda sorta collect as a middle-aged woman). I have a Kiddles album in my profile ... here are a few of the photos ...
Who else remembers these little (or should I say "liddle") dolls? I hope there are some on City-Data who will chime in and add some photos if you have them!
I had the one with the helicopter! Wasn't her name Harriett Heliddlediddle???
I LOVED the Liddle Kiddles! About the only dolls I REALLY played with. I was rough on them! LOL
lol, I was rough on them too! I am always amazed to find Kiddles with all their original accessories, their shoes, their hats, etc. -- who WERE those kids?!!
When my mom sent me several of my old Kiddles a few years ago, most were wearing clothes I had made for them (really, scraps of cloth with a few stitches to hold them together!). I am laughing at the memory, those clothes were pretty awful. I also had SOME of the original clothing although not on the dolls! Most of the "theme" type accessories were still there (e.g. Florence Niddle's baby carriage, Bunson Burnie's fire truck, Babe Biddle's car). Every once in a while on ebay they have the original Kiddles in the original, unopened packages ... it all looks genuine but I just have no clue where they could have come from (and of course the sellers don't tell!).
I think you are right about Harriet ... she wasn't one of mine, she's one I got on ebay. I have to confess I bought a cubby organizer from Pottery Barn so I can display some of the old ones ... when I find them! I moved to my current house a year ago but have been crazy-busy so have not even finished unpacking.
If you have any photos, please post them! I have a Kiddles album in my profile. Kinda embarrassing but I am old enough not to care.
The ones I really enjoyed were the Skediddle Kiddles, where you stuck the walking device into their back and the dolls arms, legs and head would move when you pushed them. I thought it was hysterical!
I had one when I was a little girl. I guess it was my sisters. It somehow got mixed in with my Barbies and I used to pretend she was a littlest sister. She was younger than Skipper!
I remember her to have very dark brown hair, maybe even black. Just a little past her shoulders and she had a blue dress on.....
Anyone remember the Kologne Kiddles? They came packaged in what looked like plastic cologne bottles.
