Another short lived thing was CD-I. I still have one of the first generation Phillips CD-I players and some discs someplace. Haven't plugged it in it easily 10 years.
I vaguely remember seeing them at a local A/V store. I just remember the guy shoving the entire 'sleeve' or cartridge into the machine. But I was more interested in the new Atari 5200.
I am def. a lot more familiar w/ the LaserDisc - which I still have a Pioneer player and a bunch of discs. Including the "Ultimate Edition" of the Star Wars movies and a "collectors" edition of T2.
