The chains look like a good way to get something wrapped around something else and ruin a bunch of stuff in a hurry. Anyone who's had a tire chain come loose on a car knows what I'm talking about.
No hassle? Explain that to me as you're wrestling to put them on, take them off, adjusting the fit, especially as you're probably doing it with cold wet hands. Swapping out a mounted bicycle tire is almost idiot-proof by comparison.
