Tough question since there could be several variables and just saying 'pain' without kind of pain, location, all the time ache or when you move, were you coughing, etc ? It's just too vague.

Rather than drag this along for who knows how long let me say this...chest pains should not be ignored unless you're very sure of what is causing it.
If it only hurts when you move, for example, think muscular. If it lingers it should be checked out.

If you were throwing up all night long, that is hard on your body, so certainly you could hurt.

I think yes, if you will be in grip of a flu then possibly ache on chest is quite common, it can be a dangerous situation for heart patients. I have seen a lady she was suffering from typhoid and was a heart patient she had a lot ache because of typhoid around chest. After the treatment of fever she is now okay.

I think it is dangerous for heart patients. I have seen a man he was a heart patient he has a lot ache because of typhoid around chest.
