As many board members probably know, Tesla has a "stationary energy storage" business, with utilities as its main customers, and that brings in significant revenue for them.

CATL is putting forth their own advanced product in this space. They call it "Tener", and the batteries have 60% more capacity than Tesla's "Megapacks" (6.25 MWh vs 3.9 MWh), and CATL claims that Tener packs show zero degradation in the first five years of use.

Both Ford and GM are trying to work with CATL to build battery plants here for their EVs, but our whackjob politicians are blocking these attempts. *sigh*
