Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico was in a life-threatening condition in hospital Wednesday after he was shot multiple times in a stomach, in an assassination attempt.
He is a known ally of Russia, campaigns against LGBTQ+ rights, and anti-American views.

Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová said the suspected gunman was detained by the police. She said law enforcement agencies will release more information when they can and asked the public not to spread unconfirmed rumors.

Attacks against elected officials are virtually unheard of in recent European Union history.

Or maybe by a Slovakian opposition party.

Same thing happened to Don Corleone in The Godfather, shot five times and still alive.

It’s a miracle, the bullets must have missed vital organs.

But recovery will take months, maybe years. Godspeed.

So who takes over as prime minister?

Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok referred to the suspect — who was charged with premeditated murder — as a “lone wolf” who did not belong to any political groups, though he said the attack itself was politically motivated.

“I can confirm that this person is not a member of any right-wing or left-wing radicalized party."
The shooter was Juraj Cintula, a 71-year-old retiree who was known as an amateur poet, and may have previously worked as a security guard at a mall in the country’s southwest.

Right. I watched that short clip and it was scripted and well rehearsed. There's likely far more to the story than the public will ever know and the shooting could have staged for political reasons. "Wagging the Dog".

On the TV show Dallas during the famous "Who shot JR?" episode, his wannabe assassin ended up being his own sister in law and jilted lover, who knew too much. It was a familial, business, and public relations disaster on all counts, and they decided to sweep the incident under the rug because it was easier and less costly.

You'll make a really good detective inspector.

I still have the whole dvd set of Dallas. Can't remember which one of his sil, not "Pam," Bobby's wife? Or was it the wife of his runaway brother? Oh, I'll have to watch the series again.

Kristin, his wife's younger sister. After she confessed to shooting him and announced she was pregnant, the family put her up in a luxury apartment in southern California just to get her out of Dallas.

Never let a serious crisis go to waste!
