First time out, I dropped a small doe on 9/4.

This past Friday, 11/2, about 10 min before dark, this guy stepped out of the standing corn on the neighbor's property, and wandered into the open field I have permission to hunt on, 34 yards away.

This is by far the biggest buck I've ever seen in the wild, much less had a chance to shoot, an 11 point non-typical. I dropped the head/cape off at the taxidermist on Monday, and the rest is in my freezer.

I hear there are a few muleys around here, and I'd love to get one. Never gotten a mule deer.

That's the main species of deer around my place. There's whitetail in the river bottoms, but access is limited.
Although I almost took a whitetail doe this morning with my truck....

I love mule deer, magnificent animals. I prefer to shoot whitetail because they multiply faster than the muleys, and I just like seeing the mule deer in my hayfield.
There's a doe with 2 fawns living in the ravine just a hundred yards from my house. I see them just about every morning.
Maybe she'll call in a boyfriend

Nice whitey!! I’m heading out to NE Montana tomorrow for some bird hunting and scouting. I’m trying to figure out where this muley roams.... I'll be going back out for 10 days next week to hunt antlers.

No meat deer needed for me this year. We've got a freezer full of food, so I'm looking for a wall hanger...

OMG!

I've seen deer like that once before, in CO. In an area that takes 10+ years of preference points to draw out.

Nice buck! This is from last year. I was hunting near a nuclear power plant. I didn't eat it.

Success!

Took a nice 4x4 muley buck this morning. Beautiful animal, fat as a hog

Going to see if I can find an elk in the morning.
