Cabell Huntington Hospital has been recognized as one of 150 great places to work in healthcare in the United States by Becker's Hospital Review. Beckers publishes this national list every year, and Cabell Huntington is the only hospital in the Tri-State Region (and the state of WV) to be honored in 2015.
Adding Hospital news from Huntington in this thread:
Quote:
HUNTINGTON - The Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery at Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) has been named a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery (COERS) by the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association and Surgical Review Corporation.
CHH is the only hospital in West Virginia to receive this accreditation, according to a hospital new release.
Well, it looks like the only thing left is Vatican approval.
Figured I'd move this discussion over here. This isn't really all that surprising as Steel of WV never really had much to stand on. I also think that the retirement of Tim Duke, the major voice against the merger, likely helped to finalize this process as well. Hopefully things move quickly from here.

How would you anticipate that this will affect areas where they have duplicated services? Will they be eliminating some positions to achieve cost savings?
Marshall Health, Cabell Huntington Hospital and HIMG form new regional partnership:
Quote:
In an innovative regional partnership, Marshall Health, Huntington Internal Medicine Group and Cabell Huntington Hospital, Inc., have joined to create MHC Accountable Care Organization , LLC ( MHC ACO) to participate in MSSP. As part of the MSSP, MHC ACO, along with Marshall Health, Huntington Internal Medicine Group and Cabell Huntington Hospital will work with other health care providers to ensure that traditional Medicare patients in the Tri-State region attributed to MHC ACO receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
“The approval from Rome confirms our belief that the combined CHH and SMMC will create an excellent hospital system that moves healthcare in our region to a new level,” said Kevin Fowler, Cabell Huntington president and CEO. “After nearly four years, we are able to move forward with the final steps to complete the acquisition process.”
Cabell Huntington Hospital again named to the Top 150 Places to Work in Healthcare list. It was the only hospital in WV to make the list.
