Not sure where to look in Ballston Metro surroundings and to live in Maryland(apartments, rentals)
================================================== ================

Thanks for replies to my threads.

One of my friends son just got a job near Ballston-MU Metro - Arlinton VA, I want to help make suggestions for places in Maryland neighbourhoods he can look for an apartment. 1 BR/studio/Rent share options.

He is young adult, not long out of college so he is just getting started more or less.

He has a very good income (low 70K range), but starting out/over, He will need to build savings, buy furniture, etc so he needs to keep his budget under control.

He is not a party type and is more interested in a quiet coffee shop, library or bookstore than a bar or dance club.

He does not have a car yet.

Any suggestions on where she should look?

thanks for your guidance.

Why would he live in Maryland? Just get a studio or roommate in or around Ballston.

The Maryland suburbs would be a long commute and on the surface makes zero sense. The cost of living is the same, the level of safety is the same and taxation as well. For around $1500 a month or less he can find his own place close to work in Arlington which falls within the recommended 1/3 of income and in most instances, walk or use public transit versus the expense of a car. https://www.apartments.com/arlington...om7gv70H9m_r-D

Agree with others - there is absolutely zero reason for a single person that work near Ballston to live anywhere in MD.

There are a gajillion rentals in the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor. At max if the person really want to be in "the city", they can look around DC.
