A 17-year-old has been arrested in the deadly stabbing of a 20-year-old man.

This is awful, yet not so surprising anymore. even the once-quiet and safe towns of central MA are not without serious problems now. Probably going to be another kid, of newly arrived welfare/section 8/ foster care system people...and his name should be released, he stabbed multiple people, one now dead. That kind of charge should over-ride any damn minors' 'rights'.

yes, my post sounds harsh...but the harsh reality is there really are no longer any quiet, affordable, relatively safe towns in this region anymore. Why that is the case is well known, but rarely admitted, I live an hour north-west of Northbridge, on the Nh border. Towns up here also have become much more prone to violent crime in recent times.

and much of this is because the people who move here only want the top tier towns with top rated schools.

Northbridge has had 1 homicide in the past 15 years. This is the second one. There is no crime emergency, simply these things can randomly happen anywhere.
Crime has actually being going down in Northbridge

Can't say I'm really familiar with Northbridge. But the way they noted the ongoing problems at the Whitinsville common...just never something I would have associated the place with.
