I'm wondering if anybody has open a Bank Account in a Mexican bank from the U.S.
Many banks in Mexico claim you can open a bank account remotely - but not sure if they also mean being in the U.S.
If so, can you explain the process and what is needed...?

Not sure, if your just trying to get cash regularly to someone in Mexico you could just open up an online bank account here in the US with Capital One 360 or Ally Bank or both and deposit cash into the account regularly. Send the debit card to whoever needs it over there and they can just withdraw money from an ATM. Neither bank charges ATM fees or international fees.
You can open an account via remote if you live in Mexico, as they ask for gps localization so you can´t open an account from another country. Also you must be mexican national or have legal residency in Mexico to open a bank account.
If you want to receive money in Mexico you can use Wise.

Even with legal residency some of the banks have said no to US citizens due to all the nonsense the US Treasury and IRS have unleashed on them. I know a few who have gotten a no from Santander and Banorte not too long ago even with temporary residency cards.

Ha, I was just talking to my lady friend about this option. She is a Venezuelan citizen, currently living in Germany, but soon will go live with her 40+ year old daughter in Monterrey, MX who is a Mexican and Venezuelan citizen. I am returning to the USA in September, and want a simple way to send her some cash to help until she gets settled down. The simplest way is your suggestion, although there are a couple of more bank options I could choose from that don't charge ATM or international transaction fees.

Around here, there are "Send dol's to Mexico" transaction places. Don't know what their "cut" is.
