Just a heads up. The VA has expanded eligibility for Veteran's Health Care to a new group under Toxic Exposure. This expansion Does Not require a disability rating. You are eligible just by meeting the service exposure requirements even if no specific condition is present.
Nice! Or maybe that is nice? I feel like I've been provided ample information from the VA but it seems like the VA is constantly saying they are having a problem getting information about their services to veterans, so they'll have to take some big steps to let people know about this, AND that it doesn't require a disability rating. That'll confuse people enough; I regularly see people conflate VA health care with VA disability compensation when topics like medical care for trans veterans pop up. "Durrr, how is that service-connected?" they ask, despite using the VA health care system for regular medical care not having anything to do with service-connected disabilities, other than making you eligible for care in general. Hopefully they can get the word out though.

Thank you, but the PACT act has been talked about.
The PACT Act is not a singular all enacted legislation. It's made up of many parts, some that have not yet become effective. This particular provision wasn't scheduled to be enacted for a couple more years. However, events came together to made it preferable to implement now. So, a Veteran who applied under this provision two weeks ago and was denied can apply now and it would be approved.
