I will probably post some videos / songs over time that I find in my latest wanderings thru some select rock subgenres. I am starting with A, not sure if I'll get to Z. Might bounce out of order if I feel like it.

Artists mentioned may be famous or obscure. I'll probably just mention one song (maybe a few) and perhaps a few comments. If you think they have a better song or video, let me know. If you think there is a similar / equal or better band in the sub-genre, I am willing to consider the suggestion. I won't get everywhere, but hopefully I'll get a lot of places eventually. Would prefer to stick to the sub-genres I mention as I get to them.

Not saying I like all the songs or think they are great. Might / might not. Some are historical curiosities. Innovators, influences on future or just weirdos. Some might shock. Sample at own discretion. Wanderings.

First up, Acid Rock.

First find, fwiw, Amon Duul 2.

Never heard of these guys. Pretty good video for the times. Decent song.

I am not going to mention every stop I make and this will be a fairly random walk with plenty of artists left out.

Listened to 13th floor elevators and found it a sonewhat interesting mix of past / coming future but not quite compelling enough to post here.

I already did the song Hand of Doom in the metal thread. Ozzy always warned us abot certain substances, but for many it was in vain.

Electric Prunes

Yeah substances. Too much for many. The music seemed enough for me.

I'm sure Ted would agree? Anyway, continue.

Yeah I guess he says that.

This genre certainly did a lot to make folks curious, legitimize use, romanticize them. I don't mean to glorify them. As I said I was attracted to the music. But lots of ways to maybe be semi-complicit... with lots of things, thoughts...

Yea, I guess. That's why I posted the Susan Atkins and Leslie Van Houten videos, as a warning.

Thanks for posting that song.

Not something that made it to radio often. Maybe at midnight or 2 am.

I'll probably try to find your other mentions later.
