We are looking at returning to Williamson County since leaving in 2016. Traffic was always bad in certain intersections or corridors. In selecting a new home site, and with all the new development, what are the worst areas/roads to avoid leading to commercial areas for groceries or restaurants?

Has Goose Creek Bypass become a new Franklin/Old Hickory nightmare? Is heading north on Arno road backed up for hours? How is traffic in Nolensville now?

In 2016, I remember heading east on Concord was nightmare in the evenings, Old Hickory/Franklin Road interchange at anytime, and anywhere near the Green Hills Mall.

Where are the new routes to avoid? Thx.

Not much has changed.

New 4 lane Franklin Pike in Holly Gap Road area from Concord to Moore's Lane. Maybe backup moved a little south. Also new NW Mack Hatcher bypass from Hillsboro to Hwy 96. Someday finish the circle from Hwy 96 to Columbia.

Anything off I-65 from Harding to Old Hickory to Concord to Moore's Lane (Cool Springs) & on down to Hwy 96 a mess. You really have to know your way around Cool Springs.

Agree anything near Green Hills Mall a mess depending on time of day.

Traffic on Harding to Nolensville & south busy & a mess depending on time of day.

The amount of growth will astonish you if you haven’t been back since 2016. Everywhere you look housing is going up, from mega mansions to apartment buildings. More people=more traffic. Nolensville in particular has gotten crazy if you need to commute into Nashville. We live in Cool Springs, and just avoid going anywhere during morning and evening rush hour. Or Saturday afternoons, for that matter.

I think you will be shocked at the amount of traffic here now. We have only been here 6 years and notice a huge difference in the amount of traffic and cars. I always feel badly for the folks who have lived here all their lives and have to deal with so many people (like us) moving here for jobs, etc. Concord road is always backed up at rush hour. Murfreesboro Road is also always a parking lot. They are adding an exit off I-65 towards Spring Hill because of the traffic and homes being built out that way.

A good part of the Concord Road traffic is for folks in Nolensville. Seems to be the only decent route from I-65.

Don't think new Franklin Pike at Holly Gap Road has changed things much. You still turn on Moore's Lane to get to Cool Springs & Mallory Lane.

It's the time of year with heavy shopping to be a mess.
