I'm in Tucson and looking for a decent smaller city to retire to.
I've seen it mentioned that White Sands Blvd has terrible traffic and that everything is located on that route.
If anyone can answer, is it as bad as traffic here in Tucson? I find it awful!!
Constant rollovers and accidents.
If you are from Tucson, Alamogordo will seem like half the volume of Tucson's busiest arterial road that isn't I-10 or I-17. It's about a 3 mile run of out of the box retail and chain restaurants.

You are welcome. Most of the arterial traffic as you stated is on White Sands Boulevard, and 1st Street, 10th Street, and to an extent Indian Wells Road.
I avoided most of the traffic in Tucson by going through the neighborhoods. Spent 2+ years marooned there during COVID lock downs, boy was I glad to get out of there and come to Little Rock! In my first two weeks I struck up more conversations than in 2 years in Tucson. Those folks were not friendly at all. New Mexico people are pretty friendly, not as friendly and outgoing as Southerners, but I enjoyed living in Albuquerque until the crime ran me out. New Mexico isn't like Tucson culturally, it's much more welcoming. Food's a lot better too.

I had to bust out laughing at that!
No... been there during rush hour many times and never thought it was bad at all. You can also take other roads if you wish; you don't have to stay on the main drag.

Or the relief route. There's no reason you have to be on White Sands Boulevard for any significant period of time.
True. Also... it's a 4 lane road with a dedicated turning lane for most of its length... in a town of 31k people. I've been there many times 5-6pm and never thought traffic was bad. There are cars, but you move right along, and it's not a problem.
