We need to find a surgical vet who does this. **NOT** a groomer, **NOT** PetSmart, **NOT** your roommate's niece! It has to be under anesthesia, and I don't expect it to be cheap.

What do you consider surgical nail shortening? What kind of animal?

Dog. Put them under and cut the nails back much further than the quick.

We had the dew claw removed at our vet. Did a package spay! Dew claw removal, micro chip. I would say that the vet we use but it hard enough to get in there airways.

Is it that you let his claws get too long for whatever reason and now he looks like a velociraptor? Trimming, letting them wear a bit on pavement, trimming again would be easier.
