I always thought it was something like "duh-MAHN-tee". But Apple Maps GPS says: "DA-muhnt", sort of like "damn it".

Apple usually doesn't make mistakes, but I think they are wrong here. [BTW, Apple Maps also sometimes says "viejo" for "Vallejo", which is a city in California, lol.]

Also, my friend from Carson City calls Caughlin Ranch "cough-lin", like you are sick and coughing. But I called a store there one time, and their voicemail said "cow-lin", like the animal.

I am not from Reno, so I have no idea.

Finally, why is "Moana" pronounced "moh-a-nuh", not the usual way?

Caughlin confused me when I first moved her. I said like "cough-lin" until I heard it pronounced.

Thanks for the reply. Me too. I'm glad I heard the correct pronunciation from one of their stores.

Yes, those are weird ones too. Outside of Reno, Winnemucca, Pahrump, and Ely threw me for a loop.
