Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend.
MARCH 1 - AUGUST 30
Yoga on the Beach -- Siesta Key Public Beach, 9 am - 10:30 am each Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat.
THURSDAY - SATURDAY
Laser Light Nights at Bishop Museum -- laser light shows set to various classic rock music. Show times 7 & 9 pm, $15/adult. 201 10th St W, Bradenton.
Shows run thru August 31st.
FRIDAY
Van Wezel's Friday Fest -- free music concert on the grounds of the Van Wezel, 5 - 9 pm, bring lawn chairs, food & drink vendors on site.
Free Music Friday Night Concert -- Venice's Centennial Park at the gazebo, 7 - 9 pm, bring lawn chairs.
SATURDAY
Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.
Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.
Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm.
Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.
UTC Fit -- free, various get fit activities each week. The Green at UTC mall, 9:30 - 10:30 am.
Memorial 5K Hike -- to honor fallen heroes/vets, fundraiser, $40/person to participate. Participants receive 5-shirt, lunch. Registration 8 am, hike 9 am, J D Hamel Park in Sarasota.
Manasota FNGLA Fishing Tournament -- competition for cash prizes, $250/team registration fee, 6:45 - 11 am, Jigg's Landing, 6106 63rd St E, Bradenton. Contestants must provide proof of FL fishing license to compete.
Flags for Fallen Vets -- volunteers (must register) place American flags on graves of vets at Sarasota National Cemetery, 8 am. Ceremony to follow at 10 am.
Snook Adams Kids Day -- by Anna Maria Island Privateers. Free hot dogs, pizza, drinks. Games for kids and adults. 10 am - 3 pm, Holmes Beach City Field.
Selby Gardens Family Saturdays -- art activities for kids, 10 am - 12 pm, free with regular admission.
Patriotic Pops Fireworks -- Venice Symphony & Group Liberty Voices perform patriotic songs, followed by fireworks. Tickets $49 & up, 7:30 pm, CoolToday Park in Wellen Park (North Port).
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
St. Armand's Fine Arts Festival -- artisan vendors from all over the nation, 10 am - 5 pm.
Sarasota Guitar & Amp Show -- vendors, demonstrations. 9 am - 5 pm, Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, tickets $5 - $15/person.
SUNDAY
Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.
The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.
Wellen Park Farmers Market -- 9 am - 1 pm.
Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- gates open 10 am, starts at 1 pm, tickets $15 & up. Polo ticket and other info at:

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy by Mote
Season is over, back next winter.
Sundays at the Bay -- free performance by various artists at The Oval on the Bay (1055 Blvd of the Arts), 4 - 5:30 pm.
Siesta Key Beach Drum Circle -- free event, people gather about an hour before sunset.
Memorial Day Beach Service -- North Jetty Park, Venice, 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
AquaPalooza 2024 -- water party for boaters, paddle boarders, kayakers at New Pass sandbar by MarineMax Marina, free event, live music, 10 am - 4 pm.
Memorial Day Weekend Concert -- Lakewood Ranch Wind Ensemble & Choral Artists of Sarasota perform a concert, 4 - 6 pm, Sarasota Opera House, tickets $5 - $60.
Lakewood Ranch Tribute to Heroes Block Party & Parade -- street party on Lakewood Ranch's Main Street 5 - 8 pm. Parade at 6:30 pm with bands, floats, drum lines, dance team.
MONDAY
Memorial Day Patriotic Symphony Salute -- with AMI Concert Chorus, on Anna Maria City Pier, 10 - 11:30 am, free event.
Bradenton Memorial Day Service -- Riverwalk Park behind Manatee Memorial Hospital, 9 am.
Venice Memorial Day Ceremony -- Patriots Park, 800 Venetia Bay Blvd, 10 am.
Sarasota Memorial Day Parade -- starts at 10 am at Osprey & Main, travels down Main street to J D Hamel Park for a ceremony at 11 am.
Myakka River Blues Festival -- Snook Haven, 5000 E Venice Ave, 11 am - 5 pm, tickets $35 - $50, 400 max attendance allowed.
Knights of Columbus Memorial Day Picnic -- hamburgers, hot dogs & sides, ice cream. Starts 11:30 am. Tickets $15/adults, $5/kids. Must register ahead to attend. 512 Substation Rd, Venice.
Memorial Day Picnic -- Phillippi Estate Park, Sarasota Concert Band, bring lawn chairs, food & beverage vendors on site, 5 - 7 pm.
