No seriously these are just updated plans for what might happen at Union Station once re-development plans are approved. It looks like by the renderings we're looking at an entirely redone and open air atrium train hall, multiple levels, immediate access to buses above etc.
Around/outside of the station we're looking at the potential for 3 million sq ft of development 12 buildings, mixed use, and minimum 1300 residential units. The streetscape as originally envisioned for Burnham Place will be a lot livelier around the station that's for sure. Thoughts or suggestions?

I like it all and hope to see it come to fruition! They did an excellent job with Moynihan in NYC and we deserve to have something nice here as well. Now if we could get rid of all the bums who like to hang and loiter around Union Station as well- at least they got rid of their tent encampments on the front lawn.

Pretty much same sentiments. The boarding area reminds menor some European stations I’ve been to.
10 billion and likely to climb? Dont support this project and at the same time complain about high housing costs. This kind of development is going to make the city even more difficult for anyone not rich to live in. It will keep spurring on suburban and exurban growth as more get priced out of DC.

On 2.5 miles alone on the beltway they’re spending $600 million for an extra lane. Hogan is trying to spend $11 billion on 3 different DMV highway widening projects. I’m going to assume this won’t make traffic any better long term nor will the tolls be enough to offset the cost.
Location: That star on your map in the middle of the East Coast, DMV

Hogan's even proposing a minimum $9 billion for a new Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and that's with today's prices. Most likely would be closer to $15 billion, and all for what? A 15 min shorter trip to where? Oh the Eastern Shore that's where
