What better time to start this thread than in the summer.

Seems like there's a wide range of opinions on this.

Use this thread to discuss anything regarding dewpoints. Could be from anywhere you want, what your comfort level is, about it, current DP, graphs, or even discuss Humidty/Dewpoint relationship.

On that note...here's a video explaining what Dew Point and Humidity is.

Humidity vs Dewpoint - YouTube

I'll start off saying, Using Air temp of 70°F/21C or above, the constant dewpoints out West is my preference zone.

Prefer: 0-30°
Comfort: 30-45°
Tolerable: 45-55°
Uncomfortable: 55°+

Wow you'd even find our summers too humid if they are your tolerances! We average in the 50's in July and August, peaking at around 70F most years. This last week we've had dew points in the 60's which has felt pretty nice.

I like highish dewpoints, whatever time of the year. They just make it feel warmer and nicer. Low RH in winter suck.

Thought these charts might help too.

When temps go into the 90sF, dewpoints above 70 starts to get dangerous

Better than here, we're usually in the 60s end of June to September. Today Temp: 81.7°F DP: 61.9°.
I'm not a smoker. Im not overweight. I dont have asthma. I'm not inactive. I'm not unhealthy. I just can't stand this muggy crap around here. I want that crisp fresh air back! lol Or at least dry enough so I can actually be active outside for more than 10 minutes straight without being uncomfortable.

I like high dew points as well as dry periods in summer. Love to "swim in the air", but after a few days it becomes tiresome and a dry spell is welcomed. Though, if it's windy, I prefer humidity to be fairly high.
I don't like the effect low winter dew points have on my hands, but they're a necessity in order to have wintry weather.

I've experienced a dew point in the "awful" range once, though not by much (24.4°C/75.9°F with a 29.5°C/85.1°F air temp). That was muggy, sure but I liked it.

Not to veer away from the Summer thread but check out what the current dewpoints in the 70s are doing.

Temps in the 80s/90s in central U.S, Dewpoints in 70s, so real feel is upper 90s/100. It's like instant convection. Those results can produce major storms.

and FYI, winds are directly from the gulf (south) at surface and 4000'..
