Hi, so my schedule is

Week 1 On 2 off 1 on 2 off 2

Week 2 Off 3 on 3 off 1

Do that because it gives me 5 to 6 days off in a row. Have one child and more on the way in the Fall. I am wondering if it be better to do just 3 in a row then off 4.

Curious what works best for you night owl parent's???

I've never worked anyplace that let me make my own schedule. The 5 days off in a row is pretty sweet. How long are your shifts?

All you can do is look at available childcare on your area, partner's schedule (if you have one), and fill in those gaps. There's no one size fits all answer to something like this, even among night shifters.

Agree that it depends on what works for you. I preferred getting regular help rather than an all-or-nothing situation.
