The owner of the Mocha Delights on 340 Boulevard NE, Atlanta, GA 30312 location (at Atlanta Medical Center) is an elderly man, who has been extremely rude and disrespectful to my co-worker and I on a few occasions. Several months ago, my co-worker and I used to buy lunch from this restaurant at least 2 times a week, but because of the rude and snappy attitude of the owner and some of the workers and the sloppy and careless way that the food is prepared (dousing sandwiches in too much oil/sauces, and forgetting requested add-ons), we stopped going. After some discussion, we decided that maybe things have improved at Mocha Delights, since it had been so long since we had last been there, (and we had limited options) we decided to go there for lunch. I was COMPLETELY WRONG.
Today I purchased a chicken salad sandwich combo (price $7.50) and asked the cashier could she please have the person making my sandwich, add pepper and oregano. The elderly owner overheard me asking the cashier and he chimed in very rudely, "We don't usually add pepper and oregano to the chicken salad sandwich". I said okay, but "I would like pepper and oregano added to my sandwich". Is there a problem with adding those seasonings to my sandwich". He rudely went back and forth with me about 4 times saying that "we don't usually add that to the chicken salad sandwich", in front of a restaurant full of people waiting on their orders. He then had the audacity to ask me "Ma'am do you wanna come make this order?" Frustrated, I said "that's fine, just cancel my order", which also included a piece of cake I was going to purchase. He then told the person making the orders to go ahead and add the pepper and oregano.
This is on another level of sub par customer service that I have never encountered in my life. My co worker and I spent almost $10 each on our lunches and he complained about having to add seasoning to a sandwich. This was an absolutely ludicrous reason to argue with a customer, and shows lack of appreciation and consideration for my business. We decided for once and for all, this was the last time that we would spend any money in this Mocha Delites since they have no concept of respect for the customers that help keep their business running. Do yourself a favor and spend your money at another restaurant where the food and drinks are reasonably priced and at the very least, you receive decent customer service. This location is not that place.
