Description: About a 30-minute drive south of Boulder, the more than 25-year-old Arvada Center is a sophisticated venue for music of all types, from popular to classical, with nationally known groups and performers. During performances, the upper gallery is open so that audience members may view the work of nationally known artists and craftspeople. Summer concerts are in an outdoor amphitheater. The previous seasons have included performances by such varied artists as the Ahmad Jamal Trio, A Roomful of Blues, Eileen Ivers Immigrant Soul, and The Russ Morgan Orchestra, among others. Tickets run from $8 to $55. The center also offers year-round theater, concerts, and dance performances, a historical museum, a children’s theater, and classes in ceramics, dance, writing, acting, visual arts, and more.

Description: The Arvada Center opened its stage doors in 1976 and has been an equity theater since 1992, bringing professional talent into an intimate setting. The center was expanded and renovated in 2005/2006 and is better than ever. Shows run Tuesday through Sunday with matinees. The Arvada Center also has a huge education program offering more than 100 classes for both children and adults in everything from acting, performing arts, and music to ceramics and the humanities.

Description: The Arvada Center hosts 12 to 15 art exhibits a year. Nationally known artists and Colorado’s best artists and craftspeople show their work in the excellent gallery. There is also a permanent historical exhibit on the area’s early days. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
