Description: Located in east Boulder County, this airport has a runway big enough for small jets, but most of its air traffic is single- and twin-engine propeller planes. A full range of flight instruction is available. Experimental and unique home-built airplanes occupy many hangars. And the jet-set—that is, the propeller-set—has settled nearby. More than a dozen houses adjacent to the airport sport private hangars with taxi lanes connecting to the runway.

Description: This gorgeous new recreation center opened in 2007 and is a fantastic addition to the burgeoning east county towns. The center features state of the art equipment as well as an indoor climbing wall for the young and young at heart! The building was designed with sustainability and energy conservation as a priority. Key features include an aquatics area with lap pool, leisure pool with play features, whirlpool, 2-story figure-8 pool slide with splash tank, lazy river, and outdoor water feature and spray area, gymnasium, fitness areas on two levels, including cardiovascular (all with integrated 15’’ LCD screens), fitness/group exercise studio (1,340 sq ft) with sprung timber floor and mirrored walls, 32’ climbing pinnacle and 12’ bouldering wall, elevated indoor running track, racquetball courts and so much more. The center is open Monday through Friday, from 5:30 am until 10 pm and on Saturday and Sunday, from 8 am until 6 pm. Fees are: $4.50 adults, $2.70 seniors and $2.25 for kids ages 4 through 17.

Description: This junkyard is so darned pretty it was featured on the CBS Evening News. Car parts, fitting everything from a 1959 Anglias to a 1993 Geo Storm, are arranged by country. A Japanese flag flies near the Hondas; a German flag marks the BMWs. Small parts are stored picturesquely in yellow school buses and Chevy vans. The Colorado New Music Association came out here one fall and made, along with other instruments, drums from the hubcaps.
