Description: In 1983 this store was opened as a new and used bookstore, but over the years they have added more and more, evolving into a full-service music store, with not only CDs and DVDs, but clothing, posters, tapestries, incense, jewelry, and more. The Trading Post also owns Eastern Accents, farther west on Route 44 just after you cross the Farmington River in New Hartford. There they sell wood and stone carvings, primitive art, furniture, and clothing from Thailand, Nepal, and Bali. The Trading Post itself is a unique shop of the sort you’ve probably only seen in movies set in California, right here in Canton. And they still have a small collection of used and new books. Maybe you’ll find one about the importance of diversification to stay in business in a changing world.
