Address: 58 North Rd.

Description: There are countless labyrinths, corn mazes, haunted houses, and the like throughout the state in the weeks leading up to Halloween. But the most original scare fest has to be at the Connecticut Trolley Museum on Fri and Sat from Columbus Day to October 31. Head to the museum from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and hop a ride on this deliciously frightening express. There are more than 30 trolley cars on display here at this museum (with more being restored in the barns), which began in 1940 as the only one dedicated to the preservation of the trolley. At other times of the year you can visit the museum (and the Fire Museum next door) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon, Wed, Thurs, and Fri, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sun. On those days, cars run every 20 minutes. They run other events throughout the year like Winterfest, the Easter Bunny fun day, and BBQ on the Line. Check their schedule, because these fun events are the best way to see this unique attraction.
