Description: Connecticut has many town fairs, but not many that have been going steadily since 1853. The Harwinton Fair is one of the largest fairs as well, with hundreds of attractions, exhibits, vendors, and more. There are displays, like a blacksmith shop and working shingle mill; demonstrations of pioneer and Civil War living; and competitions, such as baking and wood chopping. The fair hosts a large traveling carnival with rides, a high-wire act by circus performers, and dozens and dozens of craft and food vendors. They have entertainment for kids, like magic shows, and music entertainment for adults. Skillet tossing, pig racing, oxen teamster challenges, and an antique tractor show . . . what more do you want from a country fair that has been going for more than 150 years?
