1. Abbot’S Lobster In The Rough

City: Noank, CT
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (860) 536-7719
Address: 117 Pearl St.
Insider Pick:

Description: This large seafood shack in the charming seaside village of Noank is a perennial favorite among lobster-loving tourists and locals. Walk up to the array of windows and stand in line; they will call out your order. Pack a tablecloth, glasses, and a bottle of wine, perhaps a nice Connecticut Chardonnay to have with your lobster, and sit on the decks overlooking the Sound. If you’re hungry, try the Seafood Feast, a complete shore dinner with chowder, shrimp, steamers, mussels, potato chips, coleslaw, and a full steamed lobster. For dessert, don’t miss their strawberry shortcake. One note of caution: Abbot’s heretically uses hamburger rolls for the lobster roll sandwich. Somehow no one seems to mind.
