1. Roseledge Farm Bed And Breakfast

City: Preston, CT
Category: Accommodations
Telephone: (860) 892-4739
Address: 418 Route 164

Description: This 1720 farmhouse has fireplaces in each of its 3 guest rooms. Innkeepers Gail and Sandy Beecher will invite you to help with the morning chores, and you should take this opportunity to feed the goats and sheep or collect the morning’s eggs. There’s even a beehive on the property, but don’t worry, you won’t have to smoke it to check the honey. Instead, you’ll be treated to feather beds, fresh flowers, wood-burning fireplaces, homemade soaps, and evening wine. In addition to selling plants, garden products, and books, Roseledge is also open to the public for tea and baked goods. You’ll enjoy those in the morning, of course, only one of many reasons to regret ever having to leave this wonderful place.

2. Strawberry Park

City: Preston, CT
Category: Accommodations
Telephone: (888) 794-7944
Address: 42 Pierce Rd.

Description: Less a campground than a resort, the 160-acre, 500-site Strawberry Park is a destination itself. State-of-the art facilities include 5 playgrounds, 3 large swimming pools, 2 whirlpool spas (for adults only!), 2 regulation basketball courts, sports fields, an air-conditioned arcade, a snack bar called the Grill & Creamery (ice cream!), and horseback trail riding. A recreation center offers Ping-Pong, billiards, and darts. Activities include bingo, bonfires, dances, kickball, horseshoes, volleyball, and many more. Restrooms with hot showers and golf cart rentals complete the resort amenities at this huge complex. You can also rent a trailer or log cabin for slightly less rustic accommodations. Pets are allowed at some sites and in some rentals, so make sure when you make your reservations. They also sponsor annual music festivals, just to complete the unbelievable package.
