Description: Begun in 1970, this hideaway in Seymour began catering to the middle school students who walked here, and now those students bringing their grandchildren. Outside is a standard brick storefront, but inside Zois’ has nice wooden booths and framed antique photos of the Naugatuck Valley in its heyday. Their anchovy pizza is a classic of its kind, and their crust is for people who don’t like crust. They also have grinders, wings, and the other usual pizza palace delights. They even serve local wine from Sunset Meadow Vineyards. Of course, they have takeout, too, but the dining room is a cut above, though always full. There are hundreds of local pizza joints throughout Connecticut, but this is one of the very best.
