Address: 14 Roosevelt Dr.

Description: A quintessential road-food joint, the Lake Zoar Drive-In is the only place to stop (literally and figuratively) on Route 34 between the Stevenson Dam and Sandy Hook. The menu is extensive at this small shack located next to the Lake Zoar boat launch, and you’ll find something you like any time of day. Open at 7 a.m., the tiny shack is a favorite breakfast stop for locals, and the best option, if you’re not pressed for time, is to go for the sampler—pancakes, toast, sausage, eggs, and home fries. For lunch or dinner, you’ll find everything from fried chicken and seafood to all-beef hot dogs and specialty sandwiches, like the rib-eye steak and cheese. There are 10 different burger options, including sausage and veggie. The basic quarter-pounder is a standout, but you might not be able to resist “That Dam Burger” with chipotle mayonnaise and onion rings. If you have room for dessert, choose from 24 flavors of soft-serve and a hearty selection of malts and shakes.
