Description: The FIU Broward Pembroke Pines center offers nontraditional students (undergraduate and graduate) a nontraditional college experience. At this center, four FIU colleges (Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, and Engineering and Computing) offer programs that are in demand in the community—especially in the working community. Many of the programs here are geared toward working adults and built around their work hours. Courses are offered on evenings and weekends, and, to further assist students who are already in the workforce, there are fast-track programs available as well. In addition, community residents can take noncredit courses, just for the intellectual stimulation; two recent ones, for example, were on the mysteries of the so-called DaVinci Code and on wine tasting (offered by FIU’s renowned School of Hospitality Management). The buildings and classrooms here are modern, and the computer labs are state-of-the-art.
