Although the place is open 24 hours, it’s located in a rough neighborhood, so best to go in the daytime. Recently named one of “America’s classics” by the James Beard Foundation, try the fried shrimp, conch, or chicken—three things the restaurant is known for. Jumbo’s has quite a bit of history behind it as well—it was the first Miami restaurant to desegregate in 1966 and the first to hire African-American employees.
