Description: Even for Singer Island, the area in which the Seaspray Inn is located is quiet. It’s on the southernmost tip of the island, mostly residential, and there’s not much traffic. In business since the late-1960s, the hotel provides a great getaway. There are 50 rooms, with king-size beds in some and doubles in others. Each has coffeemaker and iron/ironing board; microwaves and minifridges are available for a fee of $5 per night. Pets up to 25 pounds allowed; $15 per night/per pet. The Top ‘O Spray Rooftop Oceanview Restaurant, which has views that seem to go on forever, has American specialties such as fresh seafood and prime rib. (It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.) The adjacent lounge features specialty drinks concocted by the hotel’s own bartenders, called Hurricanes and Tiki drinks.Singer Island is home to a large deep-sea fishing fleet, many of whose craft are available for charter. In addition, you can charter a boat to take you cruising along the Intracoastal, past undeveloped islands with stands of tropical mangroves and past homes of people to whom money has never been much of an object. The island also has several good golf courses, as well as tennis courts. And if you’re in the mood to extend your vacation, The Port of Palm Beach, just across the bridge, is headquarters of a few ships that ply the Caribbean.
