Description: This active group of seniors in the Upper Keys has a series of fund-­raisers, such as its annual rummage sale, to raise money for community organizations, including the fire department, the ambulance corps, and the local Red Cross chapter. Besides monthly meetings, this Upper Keys group enjoys bingo; members donate the money raised to Hospice. Many of the retirees in the Upper Keys are active in conservation and preservation organizations, fraternal organizations, the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, and human service groups such as Hospice and the Domestic Abuse Shelter. The center is next to the sheriff’s substation.
